|Kindred's celery root totelloni |
Kindred, which opens Feb. 19, has a rotating menu that blends "global experiences and southern traditions" using ingredients from local farmers and foragers.
Kindred is located on 131 N Main Street in Davidson, in the former Tom Clark Museum, which was originally the town pharmacy. The restaurant will occupy the building's three floors and will feature a patio with outdoor seating in the back.
Prices will run in the $30-per-person range, co-owner Katy Kindred told The Observer last August. The restaurant's Facebook page showed Kindred's test kitchen have included dishes like celery root tortelloni with Gruyere, fennel and sunchoke as well as handmade duck egg garganelli with guinea hen ragu.
The restaurant's owners are husband and wife duo Joe and Katy Kindred, and they have experience working in restaurants across the U.S., from the Pump Room in Chicago to Quince in San Francisco. Most recently Joe was the executive chef at Rooster's in Uptown Charlotte. Katy, a sommelier, is the marketing and media manager for the Noble's Restaurant Group.
