Pure Pizza to open second restaurant in Plaza Midwood

Pure Pizza will open its second location in Charlotte this spring.

The "farm-2-fork" pizzeria said on its Facebook page this week that the new restaurant will be in Plaza Midwood in the space formerly occupied by Lulu at 1911 Central Avenue.

Pure Pizza owner and founder Juli Ghazi told The Observer details about the new site, including opening date and hiring specifics, will be disclosed soon.

"We couldn't be more excited. Now, we will have the opportunity to expand our brand to include more of what we are passionate about," Ghazi wrote in the post.

With the new location, Pure Pizza will expand its menu, grow produce on site and hire additional workers, according to the post.

The restaurant offers a variety of salads, sandwiches and pizzas made using sustainable techniques and organic local ingredients. Its signature "sprouted ancient grain" crust combines quinoa, amaranth, buckwheat and whole wheat.

Pure Pizza is located in the Seventh Street Public Market in Uptown Charlotte.
