Some relief for those procrastinating Valentine's Day shopping: a handful of local and chain vendors will be setting up kiosks in uptown Charlotte for a three-day shopping event starting today.
Customers can peruse boutique jewelry from Stella & Dot, natural soy candles from Mallory's Candles, boxes of truffles from Pott's Chocolate and custom menswear from Abbeydale. The Mint Museum gift shop will also be on hand selling books, locally crafted pottery and more.
And last but not least: Hendrick will be offering shoppers the chance to win a sleek red Porsche for a day. Entrants must be over 25 with a valid license and proof of insurance.
Shop Uptown -- which is sponsored by Charlotte Center City Partners -- will run from Feb. 11 through Feb. 13, at 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at 101 Independence Center, the corner of Trade and Tryon across from the Bank of America Building. Shoppers can visit the event's Facebook page here.
