Vans opening Carolina Place store

Skater shoe store Vans said it plans to open a new store in Pineville's Carolina Place mall later this month, its third area location.

Vans currently has a store in SouthPark and an outlet in Concord Mills, both of which are owned by Simon Property Group.

The Carolina Place Vans store is the mall's second new national retailer to open this year, following the debut of Swedish apparel retailer H&M in February.
