From the company's announcement sent Tuesday: "The redesigned Apple Store, SouthPark, is opening soon, and it’s bigger and better than ever. There are more Apple products available for you to try. There’s more space for workshops, training, or to meet with a member of our Business Team. Even the Genius Bar is bigger, so we can help more customers."
Mecklenburg County building permits filed earlier this year show Apple spent more than $631,000 on the renovations. The scope of work included "partitions, ceilings, finishes,furniture, and related HVAC, electrical and plumbing work."
The store is currently open, but is holding a reopening event Saturday morning at 10 a.m. to mark the renovations. The first 1,000 customers get a free commemorative t-shirt (no purchase necessary), so if you haven't lined up for an Apple store opening yet, this is your chance.

OK - to the sorry whiner above talking about Apple: Maybe people are upset with Apple and all the seedy and shady dealings they are involved with. Go wait for your T-short and get off the computer. We will say our opinion whether you like it or not, by God.

ReplyDeleteWhen asked about Microsoft Office and related Outlook products, they systematically shut down and seemed as though you were about to take their lunch money or something.
They didn't like trying to explain why Apple as a company makes it so you can't use anything related to Microsoft on their product. Talk about anti-social, spoiled and mad about it all.........they really are!

ReplyDeleteApple makes it hard to use Microsoft Office programs? Glancing down at my dock, I see that there are currently three of them running, and I'm sure I didn't do anything to open them other than clicking on a dock icon or double-clicking a Word or Excel document. I've used MS Office on Macs for around twenty years. Some versions have been buggier than others, but I doubt that was Apple's fault or intent.
ReplyDeleteAs for the tax issue, I fail to see how this makes Apple different from other large US corporations that do business around the world. The last I heard, GE paid $0 in US corporate tax. Perhaps the laws should be changed, but that doesn't make it wrong for Apple to follow the current laws. I see no reason to single them out.

It’s good that they’re taking the time to make it more presentable and comfortable for clients who have to stay in the store for prolonged periods of time. I just hope they made it more spacious and have at least a decent lounge for people waiting for their turn.
