New food options open at Metropolitan

The Metropolitan mixed-use complex just outside of uptown has a few new dining options, including Which Wich Superior Sandwiches and Cherry Berry, a self-serve frozen yogurt bar. A third new restaurant, Pizza Fusion, is set to open this summer.

“We’re really excited to be a part of the Metropolitan, located in mid-town Charlotte,” said Grant Alexander, owner of the Which Wich location, in a statement. “We’re going to be one of the few restaurants located there that offers fast casual food, and we think it’s a really dynamic area.”

Each of the new restaurants is a franchise location. Which Wich is based in Dallas, with about 250 restaurants, and was founded in 2003. Cherry Berry hails from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Pizza Fusion is based in Boca Raton, Florida.

It's funny to see the CHarlottetown Mall/ Cherry area called " Midtown". LOL I guess that's a NY transplant creation. Hmmm - where's DOWNtown?

Another SAfe house for the morbidly obese. This city has enough burger/pizza joints. These places should be outlawed. No one has self control anymore

As long as I've been in Charlotte, although I'm not technically a native, I was raised here since I was two, it has always been called Midtown Square. Midtown is actually the area within the I-277 and Charlottetowne/Old Independence.

@timmy .... have you even looked at what Pizza Fusion is? They offer some very healthy selections, even down to some gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian and lactose-free items. They serve all-natural and organic soft drinks, you won't find your run of the mill Coke products here....

Well, I was here when they opened what some remember as "Midtown Square" and it was known originally as Charlottetown Mall. It was the first covered mall in Charlotte and the associated theater was the first multi-auditorium theater.

Hmm, Midtown Square was originally Charlottetown Mall and was the first covered mall in Charlotte. In addition, the theater was the first multi-auditorium theater.
