FROCK Shop lounge to open in Plaza-Midwood

A new boutique space featuring a mix of vintage and re-sale apparel and accessories is set to open Saturday, Feb. 4, in the Plaza-Midwood area.

The FROCK Shop plans to open a STYLE Lounge at 1200 Central Avenue, with a grand opening celebration planned from noon to 8 p.m. FROCK Shop, which launched in 2010, will still do trunk shows around the area.

The STYLE lounge location is in MoNA, the Museum of Neighborhood Art. The new shop will have a rooftop patio in the spring, along with wine and chocolate. The FROCK Shop also refurbishes and re-sells vintage goods under its own "Revival" label.

Who is it owned by? What experience do they have? I can't believe they pay you for such weak reporting!

You realize you can click on the link in his article and see for yourself, right?

I agree with last statement. Please give us some reasoning to why you are telling us. This means nothing to those of us that might go there normally. It's only weak, though, because it looks to be rushed (writing). I buy vintage items, although knowing what they sell and who they are might give me some knowledge of weither to vist them or not.

Hi everyone. Just a quick note of clarification - this blog is a mix of quick posts and longer stories. Sometimes, like in this post, it will just be a quick re-hash of a store opening announcement, with a link to the source. Sometimes, the posts will be longer. Thanks as always for reading.

Really "Anonymous"? You are that upset by "missing" information that you felt the need to complain? At least post under your own name. OR click on the provided link and get the information you need. Bunch of babies!!!

Will some reporter PLEASE write an article on people who are paying too much at auctions. They are paying retail, not auction prices. They don't seem to know the difference and are driving prices WAY up as they are being taken advantage of.

This is a blog, not a newspaper. Not that I'm a fan of the Observer's journalists, but he shouldn't be criticized for writing a quick blurb as opposed to a full story...again, this is a blog. If Portillo had to write 2000 word stories that he researched in depth (going to the current shop, speaking with owners, interviewing clients of theirs), every time he wanted to post something, we'd get 1 entry a week instead of the 5 a week he posts. And I'm sure the owners of the shop aren't complaining about the free pub. If you want to know everything about the shop, you may have to go there instead of just reading about it.

For the love of God, please stop posting direct links to Facebook! If the 'business' can't take the time and effort to create a website instead of just using the facebook crap, then they probably aren't a real business at all. Remember, not everyone supports or uses facebook, or cares to be directed to the site at all. Thank you.

Agreed. If you are a business, have a real website. No time for social media junk.
