New beer shop opening in NoDa

Salud Beer Shop is holding its grand opening today (Thursday, March 15) in NoDa, with free tacos and six craft beers on tap.

The store carries hundreds of different beers, which you can enjoy on-premise or take home. Salud can also handle keg orders with a few days notice.

"It's a place to hang out, talk beer and relax. So if great beer is your druthers, this bottleshop was built for you," Salud's website says.

You can read a bit more about the store and see some pictures on Charlotte Restaurant Traffic here. And you just might find me at Salud sometime in the very near future as well.

Are they brewing their own beer? Might be a cool place to check out.

Do they serve Bud Light on draft?

@1:01 - No, they do not brew their own beer, but they are close to two breweries (NoDa and Birdsong) with great beers to enjoy.

I'm looking forward to checking this place out. I'm happy for the folks living in NoDa that they no longer have to drive halfway across the city to access a beer store.

In the short-term, it may harm CM and Brawley's, but longer term should lead to even more craft beer drinkers that will increase business for all the stores in the city.

Craft beer still has a small percentage of the total beer market, this segment has a lot of growth left in it. Good luck to Salud!

Can't wait to check out Salud. Hopefully having another quality independent craft beer store alonside Brawley's and CM will increase the amount of limited release beers that make it to the Charlotte market, such as a certain beer by Founders that should be reaching us soon.

Welcome to Charlotte Salud.
Hopefully, I will be able to capitalize on my wife's frequent vistis to Amelie's Bakery to stop in the beer shop.
