Tapas and shots lounge in uptown Charlotte coming this summer

Charlotteans will have to wait a few more months for the uptown tapas restaurant and bar that specializes in shots.

Construction for Chupitos, Spanish for "shots," began early last year but was put on hold in mid-December, said Frank Llenas, a co-owner of Optimum Income Property and of the restaurant.

"We’re currently sorting some things out with the current partnership but the project will continue forward," Llenas said.

The restaurant will open "hopefully early summer," he said, and will employ between 20 to 25 workers. Lleras said Charlotte's changing demographics create a ripe business opportunity for Chupitos, described on its active Instagram account as a "chupiteria-tapas-lounge."

“You have to have different concepts to accommodate all the different people moving in from New York and Miami," Llenas said. "We thought it’d be a good idea to start it here due to the fact that we have a high young professional demographic concentrated in the city."

The restaurant will be located at 400 South Graham Street, near the BB&T Ballpark.

  1. Am I alone in thinking that with the exception of Panther game days, that place is in a terrible location for a downtown bar?

  2. My old desktop that I've had for about five years just stopped working the other day. We, as a family have talked about it and decided it's not worth trying to fix this thing (again). Instead we want to buy a brand new desktop computer. We don't really want a laptop because we don't move around a lot and it'd be kinda pointless to get one. Only two people out of the family use it, my sister and myself. We surf the Internet, play a lot of online games, download music, etc. We don't really have a TON of money, but we do realize that going cheap isn't a good idea. We bought our last computer for around $800 and like I said it worked for five years. So we're willing to spend around that much again.

If anyone could tell me what brand of desktop is "best" for the type of things we like to do, and why I'd very much appreciate it.

  7. Roofing Tips Dry rot doesn’t relate to any water damage, but lack of ventilation. The roof will sag in or may cause the roof shingles to get brittle, crack, and leak afterwards. Preventing dry rot consists of installing a ridge vent; it would only work if there is a soffit vent. Holes have to be drilled by the soffit vents, so fresh air comes in via the bottom and pushes the hot air out through the top.
