Savvy Spaces, a pair of furniture stores that opened last year, is closing, the retailer announced last week.
The company is holding a going-out-of-business sale to liquidate current inventory. The owners, who also operate Ashley Furniture HomeStore locations, said they are closing the Savvy Spaces locations to focus on their Ashley Furniture business.

"We’ve enjoyed wonderful growth in sales at Savvy Spaces, but in the end, we had to choose between our two brands. As owners, we simply don’t have the time to oversee and properly manage both companies," said Charlie Malouf, in a statement. He co-owns the stores with Jonathan Ishee. They're in the midst of opening a new Ashley location in Raleigh.
Furniture, clocks, rugs, bedding and other goods are all discounted now at both locations, in Pineville and the Northlake area (The Pineville location was in a former Boyle's furniture store). Rugs are 65 percent off, mattress sets over $499 are $100 off, and accessories are 50 percent off.
No final closing date has been set, and an employee said the stores will remain open until they're sold out.

I was in the Northlake store a couple of months ago. Matter of fact, I think I was the only customer in there. The merchandise was a bit overpriced for what it was, just as it is at the Ashley stores. Not worth the money. Plus, the Northlake store is sort of hidden...not exactly easy to find. Not surprised to hear they're going out of business.
Knowing this was part of the "Ashley Furniture" family, I would not even step in the store. Their furniture is the worst made and they do not live up to their promises when it comes to repairs/replacement. As a matter of fact I found out that Ashley Furniture had so many complaints AFTER I bought furniture there I could not believe it. I would never buy from them or Savvy Spaces. Am not surprised they are closing.
Shopping local is the way to go. Stores like Slate Interiors in Plaza-Midwood offer quality repurposed and custom local furniture and home furnishings with reasonable prices, not a lot of stuff made in China. They seem to know what they are doing.
We really liked the style in Savvy Spaces. Much better than Ashley Furniture and very appropriately priced vs Pottery Barn, Ballard Designs, etc.
Shopping at the big Metrolina Flea Market is better than shopping at Ashley. And more fun, too.
Shopped at Pineville store when they first opened. It was a nightmare. The minute we purchased a couch until the minute we asked for our money back until the 2-3 months later that we finally got our money back. Can't imagine why they went under!
I can understand that managing two different companies can be tough at times. There will be days when you cannot concentrate equally on both of the companies. This may effect either one of the companies.
If I was one of the owners of Savvy Spaces, I would have opted to continue with the company, since it was already established and had a reputation in the market in terms of a reliable seller of good quality furniture.
Good luck finding something in either the Savvy Spaces or Ashley stores that is not brown or beige. They were the most boring furniture stores I have ever been in. I prefer my furniture contemporary and colorful, which is why I shop at places like By Design. But most people in Charlotte prefer boring brown and beige which is unfortunate because that's what most stores carry. Charlotte will never be hip as far as furniture is concerned.
We just heard this store is closing! A real loss for this area. We did go to the going out of business sale, and Scott helped us find a great bedroom set. We were really thrilled to find a set we loved, as we do all the Savvy furniture. We got a great price, and the service on both delivery and in the store were, as always, excellent. Thanks, Savy....sorry to see you go!
I got on the website to see the how the sale is going, since my husband and I were in the store last week ane we need more furnitures. We found a living room set we really love. Our sales-girl was Susie. She gave us great help in setting up our room, and was very knowledgable about the store and furnitures. Our set was floor sample, and the price isway below what we thought we would pay for quality we bought. We picked up furnitures t heloading was easy ( they did it for us). I could say just go to the store, we were really happy. You have to go see for yourselfs...it was fun to be there. I didnt know what going out of business was like and im glad we checked it out.
We got our set from her ( Susie ) also. She was really the best sales person I've come across in a long time.
Savvy Spaces, what a loss! Coolest furniture store in the entire Charlotte area. My husband even enjoyed our visits there. I'm sorry to see them go, but will be in to check out the sales for sure!
I went to the Pineville store last night. There were not that many people there & there were several sales people talking to each other. Nobody every said hello to me much less ask if I needed help. I was there about 20 min. I wonder why they are going at of business if that is there customer service.
Very pretty! It had such potential to begin with, and you really brought out the best in it! Found you through Thrifty Decor Chick's link up, newest follower! :) office furniture

You can always wander the aisles and eventually identify the product you need by the picture on the label. There are a few important differences to be aware of. First, carts and baskets usually appear to be locked up in the parking lot or at the store entrance. Demir Leather
