Einsten Bros. Bagels will open two new Charlotte stores in late March or early April, according to a real estate broker.
One will be in Myers Park Shopping Center, in the former Wolfman Pizza store there. The 2,500 square-foot store is in the shopping center that's being upgraded with a two-story Harris Teeter at Queens and Providence roads.
The other Einstein will go into a 3,100 square-foot store that was formerly home to Ikos Aegean Grill and Backyard Burger, on Conlan Circle, in Ballantyne.
Bryan Wyker and Malcolm McLean, of The Providence Group, represented Einstein in the transactions. Patrick McCoy of Cushman & Wakefield/Thalhimer, as well as Spencer Brown and Steve Pharr of Collett & Associates, represented the landlords.

Whoa, didn't even realize Ikos already shuttered, didn't take them long. Well, lets hope third time the charm at that location.
ReplyDeleteGross. Get bagels from Poppy's instead...they're the real thing.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Anonymous. Poppy's and Owen's are much better than Einstein's or Bruegger's, and they are local.
ReplyDeletethis is pretty far south for bagel shops to prosper.
ReplyDeleteDar's buck-wheat cakes an 'Ingen' batter,
Makes you fat or a little fatter;
Look away! Look away! Look away! Dixie Land.
Den hoe it down an scratch your grabble,
To Dixie land I'm bound to trabble.
Look away! Look away! Look away! Dixie Land
Ely what is the ETA on that new Harris Teeter in Myers Park?
ReplyDeletebagels in the south?!?!?!?!
ReplyDeleteIf you are talking Poppyseed's in Indian Trail, you are right. Best coffee in the area, too.
ReplyDeleteIs the Wolfman Pizza in the Myers Park shopping center going to close? It was open last time I went by.
ReplyDeleteEinsteins is the worst... the South Blvd. store is filthy and it takes FOREVER to get a bagel. I'm so used to it taking 15-20 minutes to get a bagel... that's with 3 or 4 people in line that I was with a friend at a mom and pop place in Huntersville- line out the door... I told her to forget it- we didn't have time! Had our bagels in less than 5 minutes and the bagels were better than Einsteins.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't disagree more with the poster that Einstein's on South Blvd is filthy. It's clean, friendly and efficient. There used to be a problem with long lines but not since a new manager came in about 18 months ago. Now I rarely have to wait unless you get there just after church lets out. Bagels are fresh and delicious and coffee is the best in Charlotte. We're happy to hear that you'll be staying in Huntersville for your bagels, really we are.
ReplyDeletePoppy's at Sharon Amity & Providence is the best place in town bagels. Owners are local and that Einstein Bagel on South Blvd. is gross.
ReplyDeleteThe existing Einstein Bagels in Charlotte are now locally owned as of May 2011. The new franchisee is the one building the two new stores. Service has never been better
