South End gets Blush boutique

Blush, a new boutique, is set for a May opening in the space where Niche Market used to be.

The store at 1504 Camden Road has had paper over the windows and a sign for a few weeks now. I sent an email to the owners since I couldn't find a phone number, but I haven't heard back from them. However, the store's Facebook page now says it will be opening next month.

Blush will carry women's apparel and accessories, and says it will have "a range of price points and styles that will appeal to the women of Charlotte, regardless of age or budget." The page shows lots of vivid colors, including an array of jeans in pink, yellow, green and bright blue, along with dresses, shoes, handbags and necklaces.

I'll update this post if I get any more information, like an exact date. Feel free to let me know here if you know any more either.

What a lame use of that space, and way to go painting what was a vibrant orange building a dull shade of 'Charlotte Taupe'. I don't think that these owners understand or care about the vibe of the neighborhood they're moving into.

yes, it's terrible when new things are opening and bringing money into this poor economy... how dare they? a small business, trying to supplement southend, a small business-inspired neighborhood? outrageous. it's almost as lame as making comments as anonymous.

Haha, touche "anonymous2". Don't get me wrong, I vastly prefer this to the space sitting empty. However, I still see it as a gross misstep for that type of business, this type of neighborhood, and I just don't think it will last long at all. If Niche and American Apparel couldn't survive there, how is this place going to? As it sounds, the target clientele for this place would rather be at South Park.

Clothing stores in general may not be the best fit for that corner at this time. I was thinking it would make a fantastic coffee shop actually, something that is noticeably lacking and would KILL in the neighborhood.

Blush boutique is nothing like Niche or American Apparel. Nothing!!! It's a great boutique offering adorable fashion. Shoes, handbags, jewelry. No matter what budget you are on. The owner is also very knowledgeable in this field. I know this boutique will do well!!
Very nice for all of those including myself, that live in this area and don't want to nor have the time to drive to Southpark. I am very grateful of this boutique. If you want coffee go to common market!! :) :)
